Himalayan Views

The mountains are the first thing you notice here, and the last thing you look at before night falls. On clear mornings the snow peaks turn gold, then white, while the valleys below are still in shadow.
There is nothing to do but watch. Bring your tea outside, find a quiet spot, and let the light do its work.
Village Walk

Stone paths, terraced fields, cattle coming home, smoke rising from kitchens. A walk through the nearby village paths is the simplest way to understand how life moves in the hills.
Walk slowly, say namaste, and you will often be offered more than directions.
Local Food

Food in the hills is honest and seasonal. Grains, greens and pulses that grow in these mountains make their way to the plate, cooked the way families here have cooked for generations.
Ask us what is cooking that day. We are happy to talk you through the dishes and where they come from.

Farming & Local Lifestyle

Life here follows the seasons: sowing, tending, harvesting, storing for winter. The terraced fields on the slopes are worked by hand, as they have been for a very long time.
This is not a performance put on for visitors. It is everyday life, and if you are curious and respectful, people are usually glad to share it.
Bird Watching

The forests and open slopes around Munsiyari are alive with birdsong, especially in the early morning. You don’t need to be an expert. Sit still, listen, and the birds come to you.
Bring binoculars if you have them, and we will point you towards quiet spots to begin.

Forest Walk

A short way from the village the trees close in and the air turns cool and green. The trails are quiet, the light falls in patches, and the only sounds are birds and wind.
Walk for an hour or for half a day. Either way, you come back slower and lighter than you left.
Birthi Waterfall

Just around 5 km away, Birthi Waterfall is one of the natural experiences to discover during your stay.
Ask us before you set out and we will help you plan the visit around the weather and the rest of your day.

Temple Visits

Faith runs deep in these hills. Small shrines and temples sit on ridges and in villages, many of them tied to local stories, deities and festivals.
Visiting them is a quiet way to understand the place, and we are happy to suggest where to go.

Spiritual Experiences

For many people, the mountains are a spiritual place, whatever their beliefs. Silence, water, sky and old traditions all have a way of slowing the mind.
