About us
Welcome to Green Mountain Homestay

Our philosophy
Quiet mornings, honest food, open doors.
We started Green Mountain Homestay with a simple idea: that the best way to experience the Himalayas is to live, for a few days, the way people in the mountains live.
That means waking with the light and noticing the weather. It means eating local food, walking village paths and forest trails, and taking time to sit and look at the mountains. It means hospitality that feels like being welcomed into a home rather than checked into a hotel.
We keep things simple on purpose. The mountains, the community around us and the experiences on our doorstep are what make a stay here special. Our job is to make you comfortable, share what we know, and then let the place do the rest.
- 01
Simplicity
A clean, warm room, good food and a quiet place to sit outside. Nothing more is needed to feel well in the mountains.
- 02
Nature first
The forests, meadows, water and sky are why people come. We want guests to spend their days in them, not hiding from them.
- 03
Real hospitality
We welcome guests the way a mountain family welcomes anyone to their home: with tea, conversation and care.
- 04
Community
The village, its people and its traditions are part of every stay. We hope guests leave a little more connected to this place.

Life Around the Homestay
Dawn
Morning mountain views
The day begins early. On clear mornings, the snow peaks catch the first light while the valleys are still blue with shadow. Tea tastes better out here.
Morning
The village wakes
Smoke from kitchens, cattle heading out, children walking to school. The village atmosphere is unhurried and friendly, and a short walk shows you how life moves in the hills.

In the fields
Terraced fields are worked by hand through the seasons: sowing, tending, harvesting. Local farming is not a show here; it is simply how families live.

Forests, birds & water
Walk out under the trees, listen for birds, find a cold stream and sit beside it. There is always somewhere quiet to go.

Around the kitchen
Evenings are for traditional food and long conversations: about the mountains, local people and culture, the day’s walk and tomorrow’s plans.
